SV 2 North Hills 9
The Raiders dropped their fifth section game by losing to North
Hills. After taking an early lead the Raiders were unable to
hold the Indians down which resulted in a loss. The Raiders will
host Shaler on Friday May 1st for a very important section game.

April 24, 2010
SV 4 Moon 1
The Raiders continued their impressive ways with a very good non
section win. After letting up 1 run in the first inning, the
Raiders held the tigers scoreless the rest of the way. The game
went into extra innings and the Raiders broke out in the top of
the 10th, scoring 3. The Raiders will host Plum on Monday.

SV 10 Fox Chapel 0
The Raiders ended their losing streak with a very impressive win
over Fox Chapel. The Raiders got a strong pitching performance
from Tyler Budisky and had 12 hits to put the Foxes away in five
innings.

SV 1 North Allegheny 7
With another shaky start the Raiders fell behind 6 - 0 after two
innings of play. Matt Smith settled down and kept N.A. off the
score board the next three innings but the Raiders offense
wasn't able to put any thing together to mount a come back. The
Raiders fall to 2 - 3 in section and will host Butler on Wed.

SV 6 Pine Richland 12
The early inning woes continued for the Raiders allowing 5 runs
in the third to fall behind 5 - 2. The game continued to bounce
back and forth and the Raiders were not able to out slug Pine
Richland. The Raiders are now 2 - 2 in section play.

SV 6 Shaler 8
After spotting Shaler 5 runs in the first inning the Raiders
battled back to tie the game at 5-5. In the top of the sixth the
Raiders had 2nd and 3rd with nobody out and were not able to
push across a run. Shaler then answered in the bottom half of
the inning scoring three. A lead off HR in the top of the 7th by
Mike Hughes gave the Raiders a spark but were not able to mount
any more runs.

SV 8 North Hills 7
The Raiders won a thriller over visiting North Hills 8 - 7.
After being down 6 - 0, the Raiders put together 3 runs in the
2nd, 1 run in the 3rd, and 1 run in the 5th to trail 7 - 5 going
into the bottom of the 7th. With one out, Jake Double hit a
ground ball to 3rd where North Hills 3rd baseman made a nice
play but then threw the ball wide at first to get the Raiders
their first runner of the inning. Mike Hughes followed with a
single as did Justin Stanger to load the bases. Pete Vicente
delivered a clutch hit to bring the raiders within one run. With
bases still loaded Kyle Gorniak roped a single to center scoring
two to secure the victory for the Raiders. Tyler Budisky picked
up the victory for the raiders. Kyle Gorniak led the Raiders
going 4 - 4 with two RBIs, Justin Stanger went 3 - 4 with a
double and Jake Double hit his 3rd HR of the year. The Raiders
travel to Shaler on Wednesday.

SV 9 Fox Chapel 6
The Raiders had their for section game of the 2010 season
against home team Fox Chapel. Matt Smith and Tyler Budisky
pitched for the Raiders only allowing 5 hits between them. Matt
Smith picked up his second win of the season raising his record
to 2 - 1. The Raiders were led offensively by Brad Collier going
3 - 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI and by Pete Vicente going 3-3
and 2 RBIs. The Raiders next game is against visiting North
Hills.

April 2nd
SV 15 Mt. Lebanon 2 ( 5 innings )
The Raiders got their first win of the
season against a very good Mt. Lebanon team. Matt Smith picked
up a victory for the Raiders with a very impressive outing
pitching 4 solid innings striking out 7. Leading the Raiders
offensively were Mike Hughes going 3 for 3 with two home runs,
Jake Double going 2 for 3 with two home runs, Jack Graham hit a
three run home run, Kyle Gorniak hit a bases clearing double to
put the game out of reach.The Raiders start section play
Wednesday April 7th at Fox Chapel.

Tuesday, March 30
SV 8 Montour 9
In a game that lasted over three hours, the Raiders fell to
visiting Montour. The Raiders jumped out to a 5 - 1 lead in the
third inning off of a few miscues and walks from Montour's
defense, but were not able to hold on. With opportunities in the
5th, 6th, and 7th innings with runners in scoring position, the
Montour defense held their ground and made some nice plays and
the Raiders were not able to get a key hit to secure a victory.
The Raiders travel to Mt. Lebanon Thursday.

Friday, March 26
SV 1 Baldwin 6
The SV Raiders started the 2010 season today with a lost to
visiting Baldwin. While the SV pitching staff let up only one
hit going into the 7th inning losing 2-1, Baldwin put together a
couple of walks and hits, including a Grand Slam to put the game
out of reach.
