2010 Seneca Valley Junior Varsity Team

SV 9 Pine Richland 14
The Raiders fell to Pine Richland 14-9. Seneca had a 6-4 lead going into the 6th inning, but Pine Richland finished with two big innings to take the lead and held on for the win. Paul Krevokuch, Wayne Jelinek, and Zach Creedon all had 2 hit games. Seneca travels to North Allegheny on Wednesday for a 6:30 game.

SV 6 Shaler 8
Seneca Valley got out to an early lead against Shaler but was unable to hold on for the win, losing 8-6. The Raiders had a 4 run second inning to put them ahead 5-0. Joey Stadtfeld led off with a double. Justin McCauley was then hit by a pitch followed by a Zach Creedon single to load the bases. Blain Bartley delivered a 3 run double and later scored on a single by Paul Krevokuch. Matt Koerper pitched well but Shaler put together a big 5th inning to take the lead. A two out double by Tyler Brunner gave the Raiders life in the 7th, but the rally fell short. Seneca is host to Pine Richland on Monday.

SV 3 North Hills 9
Seneca's three game win streak came to an end, losing to North Hills 9-3. Paul Krevokuch and Wayne Jelinek each had a pair of hits. Joey Stadtfeld hit a solo home run giving him two on the season. The Raiders travel to Shaler on Friday.

April 24, 2010
SV 6 Moon 5
The Raiders won their third straight Saturday against Moon Township. Joey Stadtfeld pitched five innings, giving up five runs while striking out two. Tyler Brunner received the win throwing the final two innings. Brunner gave up only one hit and struck out three. Seneca trailed 5-4 going into the 7th inning and took the lead on timely base hits by Stadtfeld and Wayne Jelinek. Stadtfeld finished the day going 4-4 with three singles and a triple. Jelinek was 2-2 with a single and a triple. Matt Koerper also delivered a big triple in the 6th. The Raiders travel to Hampton on Tuesday.

SV 4 Butler 2
The Raiders came from behind in the last inning to take one from Butler. Joe McFarland pitched a complete game giving up five hits while striking out five. Seneca trailed 2-1 going into the 7th inning. Blain Bartley led the off with a walk followed by base hits from Dennis Krevokuch and Joey Stadtfeld to load the bases. Zach Muto walked bringing in Bartley from third to tie the game 2-2. Two more runs scored from passed balls giving the Raiders a 4-2 win. Seneca travels to Fox Chapel on Friday.

SV 6 NA 10
Seneca Valley lost a hard fought game in 11 innings against North Allegheny 10-6. Tyler Mayo had another strong performance on the mound striking out five. The Raiders trailed 5-3 in the bottom of the 7th with two outs and runners on second and third. Blain Bartley delivered a base hit scoring McCauley and Jelinek sending the game into extra innings. North Allegheny loaded the bases in the 8th and Matt Koerper came in relief showing great poise to get out of the inning with no runs scored. NA scored four runs in the 11th and Seneca's rally in the bottom half of the 11th came up just short. Paul Krevokuch had a four hit day with three singles and a triple also scoring two runs. Wayne Jelinek finished 2-2 with one run scored. The Raiders travel to Butler for a 7:00 game on Wednesday.

SV 4 Shaler 10
The Raiders were handed their first loss of the season falling to Shaler 10-4. Wayne Jelinek, Sam Fragale, Dennis Krevokuch, and Paul Krevokuch all came through with base hits. Seneca had the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh inning when Seth Dehart was robbed of a base hit to end any chance of a come back. The team looks to rebound from this loss when they travel to Pine Richland on Friday.

SV 14 North Hills 2
Seneca Valley won their third straight game with a win over North Hills 14-2. Justin McCauley received the win giving up only one hit and striking out four through three innings. Tyler Brunner pitched well in relief throwing two hitless innings. The Raiders put up 14 hits and everyone in the lineup had at least one. Joey Stadtfeld led the way with a pair of triples. Justin McCauley also helped his cause delivering a three run triple. The Raiders are home against Shaler on Wednesday.

SV 12 Fox Chapel 4
The team improved their record to 2-0 while getting their first section win over Fox Chapel with a score of 12-4. Joe McFarland pitched four innings giving up four runs on four hits while striking out five. The game was held close until Joey Stadtfeld ignited a seven run 4th inning with a three run shot over the right center fence. Sam Fragale, Justin McCauley, Seth Dehart, Austin Lucci, and Paul Krevokuch all came through with big hits to keep the rally going. Lucci came in relief to throw the final three innings and closed the door on Fox Chapel, giving up only one hit and striking out seven. The team travels to North Hills on Monday for their next scheduled game.

Seneca Valley 4 Mt Lebanon 1

The JV baseball team got its first win of the season against Mount Lebanon with a score of 4-1. SV had a strong pitching performance along with key hits with runners in scoring position. The team is home against Fox Chapel for the section opener on Wednesday. Tyler Mayo pitched a complete game giving up 5 hits and striking out 7. Troy Witt came through with an RBI double and Dennis Krevokuch had a pair of doubles.
